The right way to teach Quran learning for kids starts with finding the right Qaida, which are short, easy-to-understand lessons on specific verses or topics of the Quran. A good Qaida should have three characteristics: it should be short, easy to understand, and focused on the meaning of the Quran rather than on the Arabic text itself.

A brief history of Quranic education

The first thing to know about Quranic education is that it has been around for more than 1400 years. It was during the 6th Century that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked his companions and relatives to teach their children how to read and write. And so Quranic education started with him as a teacher. He would recite the verses to them, then they would repeat them after him. They would also copy some of what he had written on a piece of bone or wood. He also encouraged parents and other adults in his society to learn Quran themselves so they could then help teach their children as well. So, it’s clear that teaching Quranic education goes back all the way to Islam’s founding prophet himself, who passed this knowledge on from generation to generation

Choosing the Best Curriculum for Your Child

Not all Quranic curricula are made equal. It’s important for parents to look at a curriculum’s materials, as well as its track record. Some curricula are better suited for children in younger grades while others aren’t appropriate until higher grades.

Finding the Best Teacher

Finding a teacher for your child can be daunting. It’s one of those things you don’t even realize you need until it’s too late and your kid is already stuck in a class. But there are some things that you can do to ensure that your child is learning from someone who cares and has been trained to teach kids.

Getting your Child Ready

Even though your child is young, they will eventually learn Quran and it is important that you start them off on the right foot. Before we begin learning, however, there are a few things you can do as a parent to help your child become more receptive to their lessons. The following suggestions should be used for children of all ages. The younger your child is when starting, however, these techniques should be applied more frequently and consistently.

Day-to-Day Life with Quranic Education

Learning Quranic education is like learning any other subject in school. Children start off learning an alphabet and numbers before they are taught how to read or write words and sentences. With Quranic education, you also start off by teaching your child how to recognize letters and recite short surahs. As your child grows older, you can move on to more advanced skills such as memorizing complete surahs.

What if my child doesn’t memorize it all?

Don’t feel bad! learning Quran for kids at least not every child does. Even some of our great scholars today, may Allah have mercy on them, did not memorize it all as children. No matter what your child memorizes, make sure he or she is learning from a reliable teacher. Do some research and find someone who will teach your child in a manner that respects your deen (religion) and that you are comfortable with.
